Well, it could be worse. Losing 2.1 pounds in a week isn't all that bad. I know that. I should be happy. And yet . . .
I won't lie, I'm pissed. I lost .2 pounds last week, and all I could pull this week was a 2.1? A plain 2.1 isn't enough for my stretch goal. I need to clock weekly losses of 2.2+.
Honestly, if it was any old week, I wouldn't be discouraged by a 2.1 pound loss. It's just that I had such a bad week last week, so this week should've been a good week, and it just wasn't. Grrr.
And I know I shouldn't be discouraged or upset. 2.1 pounds is big. But I just feel like it's not big enough.
Edited to add: I've calmed down a bit and realize that 2.1 pounds is a good week and that I should be happy with it. I won't lie, part of me is still a little GRRR, but that's life. I did well this week, and I'll do better next week. I can do this.

Hey, I can completely relate. I decided to start with getting hooked on exercise and have been doing 45 minutes to 90 minutes of aerobics 6 days a week since May first and actually gained 2 pounds! I know I need to dive into the diet now, I just know myself. I hate food, so I avoid eating and starve and then eat sweets to have energy. I gotta get off that rollercoaster. It sounds like you have a plan that works. If you lose more than 2 pounds a week, it's pure water and it'll come right back on when you eat carbs again. It's the sad truth about weight. Keep it up--each week is completely different. If you've watched "Biggest Loser," some weeks people kill themselves and have no weight loss. The body fluctuates. Hang with it and then you get a 4-pound week.
ReplyDeleteeven though your pissed, you still deserve a big ole congrats.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!
thanks hun I need someone to believe in me! and 2.1 is a great loss! you have come so far! I think your doing fantastic! Don't grrr about it too much stress causes weigh gain! :) ::huggs::
ReplyDeleteawe...I too can relate...
ReplyDeleteyou doing fab though!
Wonderful!! Even if it doesnt seem like enough, it all adds up so fast. I looked at your total loss and it is amazing. And you bought a SMALLER size. You rock!
ReplyDeleteYeah, man - 2.1 pounds is rockin! Try not to be too pissed. I know what you're saying, but still - it's all good!
ReplyDelete2.1 lbs is a great loss. I know how you feel though. I am using a body bugg and I am supposed to lose 3 lbs a week and I rarely get it. Usually though at the end of the month I have lost ALMOST 3 lbs a week which is great.....
ReplyDeleteYou are doing awesome ♥
ReplyDeleteI *so* understand what you mean. Nice loss last week...nada this week. WTF I worked my ass off (literally according to measurements LOL) but the scale is a stubborn b*tch sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, savor the loss (it IS a good one!) & enjoy your bugg when it arrives!

You are such a numbers person Hadley!! You did have a good loss this week, and instead of looking at last week and then this week, try just thinking of both weeks as those are just a few more pounds you never have to think about again!!
ReplyDeleteFace forward and stay strong!!
I know that's easier said than done. . .
You are a number crunching fiend lady! Try not to let it get to you and focus on the positives.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I gave you an Honest Scrap award.
You lost an excellent amount of weight. Don't be so hard on yourself!
ReplyDelete2.1 pounds is awesome - I'm at 2.4 today and am ECSTATIC! I think it is just fantastic! Go Hadley!
ReplyDeleteI know you were initially frustrated with the loss, but I'm glad you've reconsidered because it really is a great drop! Congratulations on your Honest Scrap award, by the way!
ReplyDeleteWe've all been there. Congrats though. That is in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteYou're like me, you are so determined to make the scale do exactly as you tell it. :)This is the kind of drive that will literally drive down that weight. Just assess your diet and exercise program...are you doing everything right...if so, it's only a matter of time. The weight will have to go.
ReplyDeleteBefore your know it, you'll be running half marathons next summer. :)
I couldn't resist... I have awarded you the Honest Scrap award on my blog too!
ReplyDeleteI understand your disappointment, but still.....-2.1 is awesome!! Slow and steady wins the race remember.:-) You're doing great, keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteI think your doing great!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up you can do it!
I try to convince myself (however, I'm still upset about my slow progress) that as long as the numbers are lower than last week, it's okay.
ReplyDeleteBut the thing is the metric system sucks because 1 kg is 2.2 pounds.
But, you're doing great, I cheer for you!!! (:
